I would recommend Zapier to businesses of any size for professional use. In comparison to IFTTT, Zapier has a very distinct audience. It can also lag at times and is known to have some bugs. However, even though Zapier has a pleasant design and a somewhat easy-to-use user interface, it is still not as simple as IFTTT. This is perfect for situations like, “Only run this zap if the email contains the word ‘happiness.'” For example, you can limit actions by requiring material to contain certain words or phrases, or you can use specific timing settings for complete control over your actions. What really makes Zapier stand out is its ability to add “filters.”įilters give you a more customized and powerful string of events. Zapier also makes it easy to find any app you may need by providing a hierarchal search system, rather than having to skim through a long list. With more than 750 integrations, Zapier ensures you will find whatever you need, especially if the application is business related. Zapier beats IFTTT in a number of hosted applications by a landslide. So, if you want to get an email and a Slack message every time someone fills out your Typeform, you can!
This means that one trigger can cause multiple actions, on multiple different applications, unlike IFTTT. One of Zapier’s most distinct features is the ability to create multi-step zaps. I don't know, just hopeful thoughts I guess! I LOVED the features I setup for myself.Zapier calls the combination of trigger and action a zap. If it stops working through Alexa, maybe there's a way to have google assistant open an app that can then handle the transcription on it's own - my take on it is that you won't be able to use custom "text ingredients"/variables through voice directly on the assistant, but if you could get assistant to open app that independently transcribed the voice command and then sent it to the webhook or whatever it is you need, then that could work - it seems like they are removing the features yet will allow assistant integration inside of an app where the transcribing could happen. I was thinking about Google crippling autovoice as well, but I was hoping it worked differently and could be a workaround.

I don't care if it goes thru my phone with Alexa or if it's google or some 3rd party solution through my PC or phone. Does anyone have any insight as to how one would send a spoken phrase to tasker and then use tasker to send the phrase to a webhook - trigger the action through google assistant/autovoice and send the custom phrase like this: Īny help would be amazing - and there's a whole community of IFTTT users who would likely be all over getting this to work! I saw that tasker has Autovoice which integrates with assistant and it looks like you can tell it custom phrases and pass the phrase to tasker. Google is removing the text ingredient feature from IFTTT which is leaving many people with dead triggers and actions. I also do the same for the led matrix update, it's just processed differently. For these I would say "Hey Google, toggl working with client" and "working with client" would be added to a link to the webhook i created to process the phrase for toggl through their API.

I have been using IFTTT and the text ingredient feature to send a sentence or command to a webhook page on my website to trigger either an update to a txt file (which then displays on my LED matrix display as an alert) or to update toggl for time tracking at work with whatever I am working on. I have had Tasker for quite a while but haven't used it for much.
